There is a growing demand for the distribution of campus-owned media, which typically has less-stringent requirements than commercial media. The podcasting feature allows campus-owned media titles, like lectures, speeches, and interviews, to be posted in C-Labs in a non-encrypted format such as MP3 for audio files and MP4 for video files. Students can access and download these files just like any other C-Labs media file and the file format allows students to play them either on their computer or transfer them to a portable device, like an iPod or Zune.
